Bio:
In the late 80’s, Mike’s original
music was featured on Rochester WCMF’s radio show, Homegrown with Uncle Rog. Later, while attending Syracuse University his band ‘The Cubbies’ earned the honor of playing SU’s dance marathon, opening the day for Meatloaf and Debbie Gibson.
After moving back to Rochester, Mike was asked to perform his original music live on the radio for WMAX’s Live at Dejelon concert series. This was the catalyst for Mike’s switch to playing acoustic shows during the rest of the 90’s and early 2-K’s. During this time, Mike performed solo as Little Billy Brown and sometimes with percussionist ‘Buster’ AKA Mike Morgan of the Fornieari Brothers. Highlights from those years include extensive runs at the Village Gate Courtyard (Norma Jeans), Schooners, The Newport House, Spectators, and The Rochester Yacht club to name a few. Special memories include being chosen to entertain for the RPO at a private reception in their honor, and opening the Town of Brighton’s 4th of July celebration for 15 consecutive years.
In 2007, Mike published a children’s rock album called Yellow Rubber Duckie, on iTunes. The song Iko Iko (filled with nursery rhyme verses) sold downloads in eight different countries! Billed as Professor Jangle, Mike played many concerts to support this project including repeat seasons at Childtime, the Penfield Amphitheater, and Ivan Green school where Mike recently completed his 30 plus year career as an elementary school teacher.
Now retired, Mike is happy to announce that he will be offering the following services:
